Our Story: From Legacy to Leadership

The RiseHer Network is proud to have been a certified organization aligned with the mission of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) and Points of Light. For years, we’ve celebrated volunteers who uplift others through selfless service, from youth mentors and educators to community organizers and health advocates.

Due to recent changes in federal program administration, the PVSA has been temporarily paused nationwide. While we await clarity on its future, we know one thing remains unchanged: the incredible work being done in communities every day. Volunteers are still showing up feeding families, mentoring youth, and leading local change. Their dedication deserves to be seen, uplifted, and honored.

That’s why The RiseHer Network has launched the Illuminating Hope Awards — an independent national recognition program that carries forward the spirit of the PVSA. These awards honor individuals whose light and service continue to impact lives across the country. We especially seek to highlight stories often overlooked in underserved communities, grassroots spaces, and among emerging leaders.

This is not just about awards. It’s about continuing a movement of honoring humanity in action.
